The trip started out normal enough, with us spending whatever precious little time we have together... lazing in the sun, sipping on our
Bintang, just generally enjoying each others presence..
Then, on the last night of our trip, we took a short trip over to Jimbaran Bay for a candle lit dinner... Watching the sun slowly disappear behind the horizon, with the sky almost alive with it's changing colors, we sat down to our table and settled in for dinner..
As was my daily routine whilst we were in Bali, I was searching for a frangipani blossom for my hair. And my precious darling immediately got up to look for one.
In a few minutes, he returned with the flower and watched as I placed it in my hair..
In that moment, I noticed that he was somewhat nervous or anxious, I couldn't tell; so I just brushed it aside as I enjoyed the cool breeze that was scented with frangipani and watched the sun go down. I turned to smile at him and we held hands. Looking into my eyes, he whispered that he loves me and with many words of love, he asked if I would marry him.
Time seemed to melt away as my heart fluttered and I couldn't stop myself from smiling. 'Yes', i whispered. "of course I will.."
And it was then that he pulled out a ring. But not just any ring, a lollipop ring. Months and months ago, I mentioned that if I were to be proposed to, I would want a lollipop ring. And lo-behold, he even provided a variety of flavors. Was there any doubt that I would marry this guy?
Needless to say, for the rest of night we couldn't stop smiling at each other. Happy but shy at the same time. As if any rash movement might break the spell. In a dream we rode back to our little room in Kuta with my arms held around him tightly.
The best thing that ever happened to me is you... it's almost ridiculous when you think about it... 'Cause who else can deal with the havoc that I wreck and love it they way you do.
Here's to hoping that it'll truly be forever...
And just so we remember; 15.06.2009 - Jimbaran Bay, Bali.
