If you know me well enough, you'd know that I'm usually an extremely tolerant person.
But when you push and push and PUSH me repeatedly, like any other human being on earth, I snap too..
Sitting in my office for the 2nd day in a row, knowing that i'll be here for hours and hours more, my time dictated at the sole discretion of "clients" really just kills me.
You see, its fine if they are warm, feeling human beings, but no. They're more like humourless robots that work on a not-so-efficient system.
Do they have no regards whatsoever for the lives of others? Yes, my life might not be in peril by sitting here in the office. Not in the physical sense anyways, but they really DO expect me to be at their very beck and call. And not only me alone, my entire team as well. (yes i am aware that i am bitching. but i need this so leave me alone.)
oh. intermission. my seat-next-to-me-neighbour aka colleague wants a mention in my blog. so here. Desmond sits next to me and he's really nice cos whenever my phone dies on me, he lets me use his charger. =D oh, and he likes Jay Chou too! *heartS*
ok. back to the story. The complete and utter disregard and lack of respect for us completely shits me. Hello, you might be paying us to work on your campaigns (and not well, i might add), but you do NOT own me! you do not own my weekends and all my time! I do not come into work or leave work at YOUR discretion.
Just last night, I had to keep myself from yelling because of an off-hand comment that as made by them. "
how come you left the office before i said you could?! I need changes!" (Note that this was at 11pm and I had just reached home and took a quick shower in preparation of going out for dinner..) I very politely, albeit in a strained tone, told them that this was not possible, as I had left the office. And even though my home and my office is only 2 minutes apart, I will not be able to do the changes for you because everyone has left (even though everyone had left hours before and I was doing all the revisions anyways. Which btw, is OUT of my job description)
And at this point, ANYONE who tells me that this entire situation is my fault because I fail to pre-empt people or that I have not been managing this properly will get an earful from me. I don't care if its my boss, or my creatives or my clients.
Let me repeat my earlier point again, I have an extremely high level of tolerance and patience, but my patience has run its course and its BEYOND thin.
i gotta run. The powers that be have just 'summoned'
i'll let you know what time this stint ends.
