Yesterday was the most unique/interesting day that I've had in awhile.
And for once in a blue moon, utterly wholesome.
Seeing as how it was Thaipusam, the great rulers of our society had declared it an official holiday. And so, while I'm sitting at my desk, stoning when im not working, I ponder over what I should do with whatever little precious free time I have.
In the end, it was decided that the girls and I would go and barge into Vinh's personal space and demand that he tutor us on the finer points of art.
Early Wednesday morning.. erm.. ok. Not-so-early Wednesday morning, Haley picks me up in her pretty blue car and off we go to Vinh's. And at about the same time, Samantha leaves her house, laden with paint and canvas and brushes.
The entire day was then spent just chilling out, drawing, sketching, painting, repainting, joking and a whole lot of eating. And you know, that was utterly satisfying.
I finished my 1st painting ever! *grins*
Although in Vinh's words, a painting is never finished until it is sold.
Oh, and like i said, it was completely wholesome. No alcohol OR drugs. Just lots of cigarettes and a sugar rush.
If you were to ask me, would I do it again? The answer would be yes. As much as I was bitching and whining about it, I really DO find it utterly satisfying and relaxing when I pick up the brush, mess with the colors and ultimately seeing a total picture form in the end. Yeah, it irritates me when I feel like the painting could be a lot better. more textures, more colors, better strokes. But I guess it really takes time for the skills to develop.
Round 2 this weekend, hopefully. =)
Thanks to my lovely girls and the gorgeous Vinh for it all.
