Yet another long night ahead of me.
It's about 10.20pm and I'm still in the office.
On to the happier times before I lose your interest by being emotional, grumpy, moody, etcetc.. yeah?
After last weekend's massive drama, this week was one for taking it slow.
I must admit, the past week has been a very different one for me. It takes a lot of time and ALL my willpower to adjust to it. Ahh.. and what would we do without the nifty thing called 'internet'.
On to the stories.
All week long, it's been pretty much the same thing, day in, day out. The biggest difference between now and then is how much more time I spend at work. Although that could be the result of getting more responsibilities at work. In anycase, the workload is a good thing. Gives me something to fill up my time.
And then, in the blink of an eye, Friday comes along! And believe me, I couldn't have been happier to see the approach of the weekend, that glimpse of light, and I feel a surge of excitement at the prospects of the weekend.
At 7pm sharp, I clicked the lil red button that signals the silence of the whirring of my computer and I happily pranced out of the office. As I bid the damn place goodbye, I am already a different person. Got home, took a leisurely shower (ok, I'll admit it, I sneaked FB in somewhere there) and got dressed. Just in time too. Nur texted me just as I was getting dressed.
1st stop - Kent party @ Bar Blonde.
This was okay. Nur met a blonde cutie named Kris, while I just wandered around and dropped in on random conversations. Being at a party where there is free-flow and NOT drinking = massive irritation.
Anyhoo, not too long after, I drag everyone to TAG with me.
Party goers include: The funny Jesse, Mr. Loft aka. Amirul, Baby Bee, Excitable Nur, Sickgirl Chris, Sister Wmun, Thebf Dwen, Sayang Fizzy and a whole bunch of others.
I was uber excited about Clash The Disko Kids, who unfortunately turned out to be a complete disaster. It's not so much the fact that it's electro (when I was in the mood for rock), it was more of their style of playing that didn't agree with me... or with a lot of the crowd for that matter.
In short, I think the only problem with the set was the lack of observance, or rather, attention to the crowd's demands. There were moments where they really had the crowd going, but could not maintain the momentum. I'm not claiming to be the expert on this here, because I'm not, but at the very least, they should have looked at the crowd, and try to draw them into your music, not just throwing it out.. Less electronical gadgets, more people reading pls.
Night ended well though. =) Finally got my dosage of rockness... Thanks Kelv. ^^
And I must applaud his playing uberly familiar songs instead of the more obscure stuff. The crowd would prolly be in a fit if they didnt jump and dance and sing to their all-time favs.. Such was the vibes that i picked up anyways, or maybe it was just how I was feeling.
Oh, for the 1st time in a long while I played designated driver. ^^ Wmun and Dwen both got extremely KO drunk, so I had to drive us all to Fei Kai for yumcha while they sobered up.
And that's when we got introed by Kelvin to the rest of the so-called gang. Some friends of his from JB came to KL so we chilled with them. And because I had no way of going home that night, I crashed @ Kelvin's together with Loong.
Next morning I cabbed my way back before passing out at home. Sleep, sleep, snooze.. etc.. *ring ring* omg. It's 7pm.. -.-
I rang Jesse and together, we went for dinner. Picadilly's as usual. ^^ Alex came too!
Halfway through, I called Kelvin cos i realised that I promised to hang with them. So, after dinner, we went for a 2nd round at
6 to 10 Grill. The coincidence, hehe. I ALWAYS go to that area for yummified chicken rice.
An hour and lots of laughs later, we adjourn back to Kelvin's for a cultural night. Ain't nothing like 4 chinese movies backtoback to fill your yearly culture quota. Nonetheless, it was a good night, the bunch of us just chilled with a bit of beer, a bit of wine, together with a bit of Mackers and a spliff of two. Slowly but surely, one by one, they all left. And at about 3am, Jesse n I realised that none of us has a car. uh-oh. Slight panic mode later, we decided to just chill and sleep over. =) So the 4 of us finally crashed at about 6am.
Sunday comes along, and it's time to wake up! woo hoo! Palate Palette, here we come!
3 hrs later, we're still sitting around the table, sipping coffee/tea and talking about going to PP. Hahaha. Such is the extent of our laziness. Soon after, we left. Jit + Loong + Me went to fetch Mary then to PP, while Kelv and Jesse waited for Danny and Trish.
Tadaa! We reached! and i was absolutely, positively famished! BBQ @ PP was goooooood.....
And so was shopping. ^^ I got a new scarf (which incidentally, im wearing at this moment), a cool-ass bracelet, and a cute hat. See, I just can't help but shop. The day ended quite well, with a good dose of conversation with some people, I learned a new word from someone that made me smile all day and night, and I met new people that sweetened the weekend.
Only negative aspect of the weekend is that I lost my voice. Yet again. When will my damn cough/flu disappear? =s
I think I should go see a doctor tho. I've been coughing a lot lately, and its the kind of cough where you're coughing away because your chest is feeling cold, even tho you've got on a nice thick shirt. Bleh.
Here's to the weekend, my hope to recover soon, Lapsap on Wednesday and both old and new friends. Cheers to ya'll. Till my next post~
